Sharon Isbin: How I became a concert guitarist – Including first studies age nine in Italy to later mentors Segovia and Rosalyn Tureck, the role of science and an early passion to be a rocket scientist, competitions, recordings, crossing musical genres, composer commissions, electronic innovations, film and television, Grammys, directing festivals and radio series, fundraising, entrepeneurial spirit, teaching, creating guitar departments at The Juilliard School and the Aspen Music Festival. It’s a story for non-musicians as well, about forging a new landscape through courage and determination, being open to creative ideas and opportunities, and successfully challenging prejudice against both classical guitar and women.
