Based on Mel Brooks’ hilarious movie of 1968, “The Producers” came to the Broadway musical stage in 2001 and amassed an amazing 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Brooks created one of the most daring and critical pieces ever conceived on film or on stage as he poked fun at the world of musical theater through the hilariously entertaining treatment of taboo subjects ranging from the production number “It’s Springtime for Hitler” to a spoof of alternative life styles. This is definitely an evening of adult humor and satire with great music and dance numbers as only a Broadway musical from Mel Brooks could deliver.
