The Drowsy Chaperone won the most 2006 Tony Awards of any musical on Broadway and the New York Drama Critic’s Circle and Drama desk Awards for Best Musical.

“The Drowsy Chaperone” is currently still appearing on Broadway and is the show that boldly addresses a great unspoken desire in all of our hearts – to be entertained.

It all begins when a die-hard musical-theater fan plays his favorite cast album on his turntable. The musical literally bursts to life in his living room telling the rambunctious tale of a brazen Broadway starlet trying to find and keep her true love. It is a tale filled with mobsters, movie moguls and monkeys as well as Latin lotharios, love songs, lavish dance numbers and, of course, the comedy staple, the classic spit-take. Everything you could want in a musical comedy is in this show.

If you’ve ever sat in a still, dark theater and thought, “Dear Lord in Heaven, please let it be good,” then don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place. Enjoy!
