A Chorus Line

What they did for love…

A CHORUS LINE, winner of nine Tony Awards and the 1976 Pulitzer Prize, is the celebration of the unsung heroes of musical theater, the chorus dancers. These valiant, over-dedicated, underpaid, highly trained performers back up the stars and make them look even more talented.

At the audition for an upcoming Broadway production, the director puts 17 dancers through their paces. With every dancer desperate for work, he tells them he is looking for a strong dancing chorus of only four boys and four girls. They introduce themselves and we discover their personalities through song and dance.

Songs like “What I Did For Love;” “Dance Ten, Looks Three;” and the finale “One” illustrate the real life in the theater.
